In fact, it is his very meekness which contributed to Moses’ great leadership. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (John 1:41). A recent survey of new Christian converts in America asked how they came to know Christ. Ninety percent of these new believers said they came into contact with the gospel through family or friends!
Lessons From Monastic Life For Quarantine
The present crisis has forced many of us into a cloistered life in our homes. For those of us with roommates or families, our residence has become something like a monastery. For those of us who live alone, our residence has become like a monastic cell. The cloistered life exposes our sins and weaknesses. Impatience, selfishness, pride, anger, laziness, indiscipline, anxiety, lust, and many other sins make themselves known when we’re confined to a small space for a long time. The revelation of such sins is a divinely appointed opportunity for repentance and revival.

The chief lesson we learn from both Ruth and Boaz is this: we do not seek God in order to obtain his blessings, but rather we seek God as the greatest treasure of all. Every other blessing is the overflow of knowing God and centering our life in his will.
“Where You Go, I Will Go”
